The suicide bomb attack in Sargodha, also known as "Shaheenoon Ka Shehr" is a very sad event. Needless to say that suicide bomb attack and subsequent precious human lives loss are duly highlighted by the print and electronic media. This is followed by all sorts of comments and criticism more on the negative side and there are expert opinions most of which are void of the around realities.
In the absence of a proper process of taking the people at large into confidence by keeping them abreast of the investigations and possibly with the findings also, what is published and printed in the newspapers and comments offered in all TV channels current affairs programmes create negative impact on the masses.
Quite obviously, some arrests are made and interrogation leads to some success. For gaining access to the network of the militants, extremists and terrorists, arrests as well as the revelations are kept well-guarded secret thus leaving the people to guess, speculate and indulge in rumours spreading to further confuse the situation.
It will do lot of good in such sensitive matters if President General Pervez Musharraf takes a policy decision and all concerned down the line directed appropriately that in every militant, extremist and terrorist activity the people should not be kept in dark and taken into confidence at every stage of arrests, investigations etc. This would create lot of confidence and trust among the people and at the same time leave nothing for the experts to comment while groping in the dark themselves.
