The Karachi Port handled 36,087 tonnes cargo including 28,430 tonnes import, 7,657 tonnes export cargo and 371 containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 22,087 tonnes dry cargo including 3,198 tonnes general cargo; 10,863 tonnes fertiliser; 1,800 tonnes coal; 1,950 tonnes rice; 4,276 tonnes cement and 14,000 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Sealo-1Kota Cape Negro, Geo Baltic and Guard Aleta sailed out to sea during the report period.
Four vessels viz Chemroad Colt, Krikelo, Lucky Arrow and Yong An 2 are currently at the berths. Two ships namely Soon Fu and National Glory expected to sail on Saturday, while three vessels viz Sp 5-Eric G Gibson, Grigorussa-1 and Zang Za San Chong Nyon are expected to sail on Sunday. One ship namely Custodia Hellas is expected to sail on Monday.
Five vessel viz Iron Monger, OEL Strength, Emirates Karan, Satha Bhum and Kapitan Byankin due to arrive on Saturday, while another seven ships namely Aquidneck, Norasia Alps, MOL Admiration, Titan, Pacific Arrow, Ocean Frontier and Banglar Mookh are due to arrive on Sunday.
The cargo comprised of 47,000 tonnes furnace oil; 9,900 tonnes edible oil; 1,771 tonnes LPG; 7,400 tonnes chemicals; 8,910 tonnes coal; 1,665 tonnes cement and 48,178 tonnes containerised cargo. Two ships namely MV Antonis and MT Gas Sulawesi sailed out to sea during last 24 hours.
Two vessels viz CV Maersk Novazzano and MT Tassel are expected to sail on Saturday. A total of two ships namely Eddy Stone and Pegasus-7 carrying containers and edible oil are currently at the outer anchorage.
Nine vessels viz CV Maersk Novazzano, CMA CGM Rose, MV Leopard B, MV Hana, MV Force Ranger, MT Process, MT Tassel and MT Oriental Wisteria are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, coal, edible oil, furnace oil, LPG and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.
Container vessel MSC Tia due to take berth at Container Terminal on Saturday. Two vessels viz MV Shadwan Island and MT Al-Soor-II due to arrive on Saturday, while another three vessels viz CV MSC Lugano, MT Qem Star and MV Wellington carrying containers, chemicals and coal are due to arrive on Sunday.
