Textile houses should enter into 'Brand Regime' with immediate effect to the prevailing crisis and revitalising textile sector with a futuristic vision, said Chen-One Chairman Mian Muhammad Latif.
Addressing a colourful evening to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Chen-One here late Sunday night, he termed textile as soul of Pakistan in general and Faisalabad in particular, saying it was facing crisis one after another in spite of the phase-out of quota regime.
He said that Pakistan has been blessed with 'white gold' but we failed to fully exploit its unlimited potentialities and are still staggering at the raw or semi-finished stage. He stressed the need for value-addition, saying the textile sector should concentrate on completion of textile chain from raw cotton up to fashion garments.
He said that visualising the challenges and opportunities the Chenab launched first indigenous Pak Textile brand of Chen-One 10 years ago. He urged the other textile industrialists to launch and flood the international markets with their quality brands to overcome the existing crisis. "It is imperative to revolutionise textile sector and maintain its economic viability in addition to ensuring Pakistan's supremacy in the textile sector", he added.
Chen-One Director Kashif Ashfaq, in his introductory remarks, said that introducing a purely Pakistani brand in the international markets 10 years ago was a herculean task. However, Chen-One accomplished this task under the visionary leadership of Mian Muhammad Latif along with dedicated, committed, and vibrant team of friends and workers.
He said that 13 domestic and seven Chen-One stores in Middle East have emerged as new trend-setters in their respective areas. "Our foreign outlets are not only promoting Pakistan's soft image in the international community, but are also contributing in a big way towards national economy", he added. Later, a catwalk was also arranged to mark the 10th anniversary of Chen-One displaying its achievements in home textile, apparel, and winter collections.
Former federal textile industry minister Chaudhry Mushtaq Ali Cheema, Chen-One Chairman Mian Muhammad Latif, City District Nazim Rana Zahid Tauseef, and Emirates Airlines Country Head Adil Ghamdi distributed shield and medals among the staff of the Chen-One. Renowned classical dancer Neghat Chaudhry and pop singer Atif Aslam also performed during this colorful night.
