Singer Abrarul Haq has announced that he is working on a project called Youth Parliament, saying he hopes the Norwegian government will support him and negotiations are under way for this project with the Norwegian Embassy already supporting it.
The Youth Parliament will be of 350 members selected from constituencies nation wide and the members will be selected for the Provincial Assemblies, he said this while he was performing in the World Performing Arts Festival organised by the Rafi Peer Theatre group at the Alhamra Open Air Theatre.
He also said that in the first phase there will be a selection of candidates and a criteria based on 20 percent of marks for academic qualification, 30 percent for the IQ and 50 percent for the spirit and after two or three years the next phase would elect youth assemblies. The purpose of these assemblies is the empowerment of youth.
