Lahore District Nazim Mian Amer has said his administration has installed 100 tube wells and changed sixty percent of the water supply lines in the past six years to provide healthy drinking water and dealt with public complaints about contaminated drinking water.
"The work is in under progress on the project of changing of seven hundred-km long water supply lines and the work will be completed before June 30 2008," he said. The nazim chairing a meeting of Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) where Managing Director Pervaiz Iftikhar, who was also present, ordered officials that they ensure the availability of drinking water in summer and work out a plan for the sanitation of rainy water in the next monsoon season.
