The Punjab Education Foundation's (PEF) financial assistance scheme for private schools of less privileged areas has helped promote quality of education through public-private partnership in the province. This was stated by PEF chairman Shahid Hafeez Kardar during a meeting held here to review the progress of various educational schemes of the foundation.
Kardar said World Bank President Robert B Zoellick praised educational programs of the PEF. Up to 300,000 students from less affluent households are getting quality education in 700 private educational institutions in collaboration with the foundation, he added. Kardar said the objective of quality education was being achieved through public-private partnership and support of the private sector through technical and financial assistance.
