The Karachi Port handled 90,513 tonnes cargo including 62,608 tonnes import, 27,905 tonnes export cargo and 3,244 containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 73,926 tonnes dry cargo including 37,011 tonnes general cargo; 18,501 tonnes fertiliser; 11,322 tonnes coal; 1,200 tonnes rock Phosphate; 5,892 tonnes cement and 16,587 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Six ships namely Helene Rickmers, MOL Asante, Hanjin Port Adelaid, Klampenborg, Sea Trust and Bw Clipper sailed out to sea during the report period.
Six vessels viz Cosco Shekou, Ltc Calvin P. Titus, Kapitan Byankin, Kota Gunawan, Carola and Chemstar Brave are currently at the berths. Four ships namely Ltc Calvin P. Titus, Titan, Cosco Shekou and North Pole expected to sail on Saturday, while three vessels viz Naftocement XI, Chemstar Brave and Kota Gunawan expected to sail on Sunday.
Three vessels viz Tenth Ocean, Faith 1 and Delta Ranger due to arrive on Saturday, while five ships namely Myrina, Nordwoge, Conti Germany, Orient Stride and Al-Rabab are due to arrive on Sunday.
The cargo comprised of 32,173 tonnes furnace oil; 9,370 tonnes edible oil; 10,177 tonnes coke; 10,030 tonnes coal; 2,418 tonnes wheat and 38,284 tonnes containerised cargo.
Three ships namely CV Dubai Express, CV Maersk Novazzano and MT Word Dynasty sailed out to sea on Saturday morning, while another ship namely MT Al-Debaran is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total of nine ships namely MSC Claudia, MSC Frederica, CMA CGM Tulip, New Toyokaze, Oak Galaxy, Heart, Zabrjad, Bernice and Don Bass carrying containers, edible oil, rice and cement are currently at the outer anchorage.
Eight vessels viz CV Dubai Express, CV Maersk Novazzano, MV TCP Wellington, MV Yick Hua, MT Handy Tanker Glory, MT Word Dynasty, MT Al-Debaran and MV Minoan Hope are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, coal, wheat, edible oil, furnace oil and coke respectively during the report period. Three ships namely CV CMA CGM Tulip, CV MSC Claudia and MT Oak Galaxy due to take berths at Container Terminal and Marginal Wharf respectively on Saturday.
Two vessels viz MT Westama and MT Bunga Melati Satu carrying edible oil due to arrive on Saturday, while three more vessels viz CV OEL Trust, CV Sima Pars and MT Al-Salam-II carrying containers and diesel oil are due to arrive on Sunday.
