Meezan Bank, the first and largest Islamic bank has been awarded second prize for the best annual corporate report in the financial sector jointly by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP).
The prize is awarded on the basis of a very comprehensive marking scheme that takes into consideration the quality and transparency of disclosures and information provided to investors. The award was received by Ariful Islam, COO of Meezan Bank at the award distribution ceremony for the 'Best Corporate Reports Awards-2006' held recently at a local hotel.
This is a coveted award and reflects the high degree of professionalism that exists in Meezan Bank said Ariful Islam, COO of Meezan Bank after receiving the award. He said that this is the first time that an Islamic bank has been awarded this prize and it is a testimony of Meezan Banks' commitment to strict adherence to the code of corporate governance and transparency in all its policies.-PR
