Thai share prices closed 0.27 percent higher on Tuesday as sentiment firmed on a central bank report saying the country's domestic demand was recovering, dealers said. But they said overall gains were modest due to ongoing worries over US economic growth.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) composite index rose 2.22 points to 833.34, and the blue chip SET-50 index edged up 1.98 points to 610.88. Losers led gainers 158 to 138, with 131 stocks unchanged on turnover of 1.6 billion shares worth 14.1 billion baht (416 million dollars). Top energy firm PTT fell 2.00 baht to 356.00.
