President, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Zulqarnain Khan has declared that the status quo is not acceptable to the people of the State who must be allowed to move freely within the all parts of the whole State.
Speaking at a reception hosted by Naveed Manga Khan, Secretary-General, Advisory Council of the Justice Foundation Kashmir Centre London, in Southall, West London, on Tuesday evening, he called for scuttling the Line of Control to allow the people of the divided State free and unbridled access.
He suggested that to ease the control on the movement of the people to various cities, towns and villages of the entire State, the Kashmiri people may be issued smart cards to facilitate their journeys. This exercise, he added, will help the people of the State to inter-act with each other and develop better relations and will form a part of the confidence building measures.
The reception was organised by the Kashmiri Diaspora in the British capital in his honour following his recovery from the treatment of the prostrate cancer.
Zulqarnain said the Pakistani leadership will always stand for the cause of Kashmir. He felicitated Kashmir Centre London for demonstrating courage and vision to invite diverse voices on Kashmir in the recent International Peace Conference on Kashmir.
He asked the participants and the wider Kashmiri community to stand solidly with the centre for furthering Kashmir cause in United Kingdom and European Union. He observed that Kashmiri Diaspora had the potential of mobilising members of British Parliament and British Foreign Office in seeking support on resolving Kashmir issue in accordance with the aspirations of people by securing them their right to self determination.
