The Karachi Port handled 93,966 tonnes cargo including 57,554 tonnes import, 36,412 tonnes export cargo and 3,382 containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday.
The cargo comprised of 69,759 tonnes dry cargo including 39,329 tonnes general cargo; 3,363 tonnes fertiliser; 10,735 tonnes rock Phosphate; 6,326 tonnes cement; 10,006 tonnes clinker and 24,207 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Nine ships namely MOL Ability, Nordwoge, Harmony, China Star, Delta Ranger, Alexanditsa, Emerald Coral, Myrina and Banglar Mookh sailed out to sea during the report period.
Four vessels viz Golden Arrow II, Cap Colorado, APL Sokhna and Nikolas P are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Orient Stride, Bow Fuji and Asian Queen expected to sail on Wednesday, while three vessels viz APL Sokhna, Golden Arrow II and Captain Rashad expected to sail on Thursday.
Two vessels viz Hyundai Stride and Al Hussani due to arrive on Wednesday, while three ships namely Handi Tanker Glory, Arnis and Comorine Pride are due to arrive on Thursday.
The cargo comprised of 24,699 tonnes crude oil; 6,807 tonnes edible oil; 10,539 tonnes iron ore, 12,118 tonnes chemicals, 6,833 tonnes rice and 80,339 tonnes containerised cargo. Three ships namely MV Yick Hua, MT New Toyokaze and CV MSC Socotra sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another ship namely CV Nedlloyd Africa is expected to sail on Wednesday.
A total of three ships carrying containers and diesel oil are currently at the outer anchorage. Nine vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Africa, CV MSC Socotra, MV Zabrjad, MV Don Bass, MV Bernice, MT New Toyokaze, MT Archangels, MT Al Farabi and MV Kaghan are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, edible oil crude oil, chemicals and iron ore respectively during the report period.
Three ships namely CV MSC Qatar, CV Sima Pars and MT Hartati due to take berths at Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Wednesday. Five vessels viz CV APL Almandine, CV Dubai, CV Inori, CV Ibn Battota and MT Petali Lady carrying containers and diesel oil due to arrive on Thursday, while another vessel viz Maersk Novazzano is due to arrive on Friday.
