The election tribunal headed by a Lahore High Court judge has adjourned until December 12 the case in an election petition challenging the election of former National Assembly speaker Yousaf Raza Gillani. The court also adjourned until December 11 another case in another election petition filed by former member of the provincial assembly Akhtar Rasool.
Another bench dismissed three election petitions - Tahir Mehmood from PP-93, Malik Nasir Mehmood from PP-137 and Zahid Anwar Wallah from Vehari. Candidates Jabran Khan, son of former federal minister Nasir Khan from Narowal, and Sajid Bashir from Mianchanu, dropped their appeals.
