President of Mutahidda Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) and Jamat-i-Islami chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad has said that the MMA would remain intact despite differences over elections boycott.Talking to a private TV channel, he said here on Tuesday that the alliance would remain intact to eliminate sectarianism despite differences over the burning question of elections.
He said, 'we do not know that Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that he will be using MMA's symbol to fight elections." He denied the allegation that he used harsh words against the JUI-F leaders.
Furthermore, he claimed that JUI (F) has decided to adopt different line of action in a bid to upcoming elections, though prior APDM had agreed to boycott the poll. He added that they had vowed during a press conference, held on November 29, to boycott the election and withdraw their nomination papers too on December 15. Later on, they deviated from the decided line of action of APDM and opted to take part in the elections. The MMA chief said that the elections would further strengthen the dictator, therefore, he decided to refrain from taking part is these elections.
He said the people of Pakistan are against these elections as they knew that these elections would not bring real representatives in parliament and assemblies therefore, the people of Pakistan are with us the lawyers' movement, the superior judiciary, the judges who refused to take oath under the PCO are under house arrest. All these forces, the civil society and the students movement all of them are with us and we will approach to the people of Pakistan.
