An election tribunal dismissed three election petitions of former advisors to the Punjab chief minister with two of them being convicted in contempt. The tribunal rejected appeals by former member of the Provincial Assembly Akhtar Rasool and Mian Munir Ahmed since the tribunal convicted them of attacking the Lahore High Court (LHC).
The tribunal also rejected the appeal by former advisor Haji Muhammad Hanif, father of city Naib Nazim Lahore, and that of Adrees Hanif since his degree case was in question. Tribunals will proceed with election petitions of Talib Nakai, son of former chief minister Arif Nakai, district nazim kasur Rana Hayat, former Bank of Punjab chairman Chaudhry Tariq against former federal minister Rao Sikandar on December 12.
