Eversince her return home in October last ending her long self-exile, PPP Life Chairperson and twice former Prime Minister Benazir has in all fairness making her moves quite cautiously and wisely. She has been taking all the decisions so far keeping in view the ground realities.
Out of the numerous political and religious parties, groups and factions, Benazir Bhutto's PPP and Maulana Fazlur Rahman's JUI (F) were firsts to announce their participation in the election. Since then, those parties which have opted to stay out of the election arena for one reason or the other are pressing both Benazir Bhutto and Maulana Fazlur Rahman to toe their line and also boycott the polls.
Greater pressure is being exerted on the PPP leadership for joining PML(N) and other APDM parties in boycotting the fast approaching general election than Maulana Fazlur Rahman who has quite categorically and firmly stated he is going to contest the polls under all circumstances.
This is to caution Benazir Bhutto to be aware of the APDM component parties' designs to trap her. If PPP, JUI (F), PML (Q), MQM as well as PML-Functional and couple of other parties take part in the polls then they would surely be the gainers and lending due credibility to the election and APDM and MMA parties would simply be the losers.
As such, Benazir Bhutto should stick to her earlier wise decision to contest the polls, even under protest, and not fall prey to the APDM pressure tactics aiming at depriving the PPP chances of forming the new governments at the national and provincial levels. I can only say before concluding this letter: BB, You have been cautioned.
