Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, during installation ceremony of Colonel Commandant of Corps of Military Police at Dera Ismail Khan advised troops to concentrate on training. He was the chief guest on the impressive ceremony to install Lieutenant General Imtiaz Hussain as the new Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Military Police here on Tuesday.
He advised officers and men of Corps of Military Police to concentrate on training and to return to basic with respect of Military-culture and turnout. He dwelt at length on the welfare measures being undertaken for welfare of all ranks, specially soldiers. He declared 2008 as "Year of the Soldier" in which Army's efforts would be concentrated on improving the quality of life of a soldier, especially married accommodation.
Earlier, Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Lieutenant General Waseem Ahmed Ashraf pinned badges of rank on the shoulders of Lieutenant General Imtiaz Hussain to formally install him as the new Colonel Commandant of Corps of Military Police.
General Kayani congratulated the new Colonel Commandant of Corps of Military Police. A large number of senior serving and retired military officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and men of Military Police attended the ceremony.
