Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (Minfal), in collaboration with Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Board (PHDEB) would construct Agro based herbal product unit in Gilgit, Northern Areas (NAs).
"The project will cost Rs 15.20 million," official sources in MINFAL told APP here on Tuesday. The aim of the project is to increase the share of agro based herbal products to agri-sector to maximise income of the farmers living in Northern Areas.
Leading private sector company AMHRO Herbal Research laboratories, Agha Khan University Department of Biological and Biomedical Science and Competitiveness Sports Fund (CSF) are major stakeholders of the project. CSF would also provide $123,000 for infrastructure development of the project to increase horticulture production in these areas, he added.
