City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that the city was heading towards development and prosperity, adding that investment opportunities for both local and foreign investors existed here due to conducive and trade-friendly environment of the city.
He said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of third Machine Tools and Automation Pakistan 2007, Co-locating Auto & Auto Parts Pakistan 2007 here at Expo Center Karachi on Wednesday.
Kamal expressed his gratitude over the participation of exhibitors and visitors in the event from the country and abroad. Sindh caretaker minister for Labour, Transport, Industries, Commerce and Corporation, Arif A. Khan Abbasi, appreciated the participation of over 135 exhibitors around the globe to explore the multiple opportunities being offered by engineering industry of Pakistan.
Zaheer Ahmed, Chairman State Engineering Corporation highlighted the importance of the two co-located industries of auto and machine tools in making the country successfully industrialised.
In order to keep pace with the world dynamic environment, these two industries are considered to be the pillars of the country's economy, he added. Aasim A. Siddiqui, Chairman, Pegasus Consultancy (Pvt) Ltd welcomed all the participants at the event.
He said that the exhibition would help boost the country's auto industry and to increase the foreign investment in the auto parts sector. Later, City Nazim Mustafa Kamal inaugurated the exhibition and visited various stalls.
Chairman Pegasus consultancy Asim A. Siddiqui briefed him about different auto and machine tools and introduced him with foreign delegates. The four-day exhibition is being organised by Pegasus Consultancy (Pvt) Ltd and is scheduled from December 12 to 15.
A total of 135 exhibitors around he globe are participating in the event, showcasing the cutting edge technology, featuring all kind of machine tools, automation, automobiles, auto parts, components & accessories, motorcycles, auto maintenance and repair equipment. It is expected that the event will be visited by around 10,000 trade visitors from UAE, India, South Africa, UK, Italy, Spain, Sri Lanka and all over Pakistan.
