Senior Vice President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, has said that the election manifesto of PML-N will be presented within next two to three days.
The issue of restoration of pre-emergency judiciary, rule of law, supremacy of constitution, establishment of true democracy, alleviation of poverty and unemployment and pulling down the skyrocketing price hike of essential commodities would be salient features of PML-N manifesto, Hashmi said while talking to newsmen at his residence here on Thursday.
He said that he was getting a positive response from voters in his constituencies and they wanted to get rid of the former rulers. He said that after being elected the PML-N members would not take oath under Provisional Constitution Order (PCO), he added.
Hashmi said that PML-N leader Sartaj Aziz had been tasked to prepare the manifesto and he was giving final touches to it. He vowed that his party would resist any attempt aimed at vote rigging. Hashmi said that after failing to convince PPP and JUI-F to boycott the elections party central executive committee had decided to fully participate in the elections.
Justifying his party's decision to land in the election fray, he said that poll boycott would only have been effective if all the opposition parties decided to stay away from the exercise. He said that the party would continue struggle for the restoration of judiciary in parliament. Hashmi said that the rejection of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz's nomination papers was the worst kind of pre-poll rigging by President Musharraf.
