Getz Pharma (Pvt) Limited is sixth largest pharmaceutical company in Pakistan with an annual turnover of Rs 3.8 billion. Getz Pharma has become the youngest company to earn the distinction of winning the export trophy in pharmaceuticals in 2005-2006 amongst 430 pharmaceutical companies operating in Pakistan, and has received again this year the trophy for the highest exports in pharmaceuticals.
It is rated as the fastest growing company not only in Pakistan but also in other countries where it operates. At the time of its inception and formation, in 1995, it employed only 45 people. Today, the company employs over 1,500 highly qualified people. It is also classified by the CBR as a Large Taxpayer Unit (LTU) and is one of the top contributors to the Ministry of Health's Central Research Fund (CRF), a proof of our good corporate citizenship and governance.
MANUFACTURING, QUALITY AND INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION:
The products manufactured at Getz Pharma's state of the art and cGMP approved pharmaceutical plant at Karachi are exported to the advanced developing countries. Some of the countries where our products are exported to are: Philippines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Kenya and Central Asian States. Getz Pharma enjoys the unique distinction of being the only pharmaceutical company from Pakistan to have been exporting products produced at its plant at Karachi, to the United States of America (USA).

INVESTMENT:
To remain competitive and stay on the cutting edge of productivity and quality, Getz Pharma has always kept abreast with investment in technology and systems. In the past one year, Getz Pharma has invested over one billion rupees in up-grading and expansion of its plant, HVAC systems and facilities. Our plant is equipped with state of the art pharmaceutical production and quality control equipment of the highest standards and automation possible.
A state of the art sterile facility designed and built to the highest standards as laid down by US FDA and WHO will be inaugurated next year. In 2007, we inaugurated, what experts are claiming as the most modern warehouse built in Pakistan, with approximately one million cubic feet of air-conditioned and automated warehousing space.
This warehouse also meets or exceeds the WHO and US FDA guidelines for Good Warehousing Practices. Looking ahead to 2008 and 2009, designing has already started for a new manufacturing facility that will be built to the European and US standards at a cost of Rs 2.0 billion and is scheduled for completion by December 2009. Our challenge is to obtain the approval and the certification of our facility and products by European and US regulatory health authorities, as a step forward to our entrance in the US and European markets.
