High Commissioner of Pakistan General Tahir Mahmud Qazi (Retd), for Malaysia has visited the Astro facility in Kuala Lumpur. According to the High Commissioner's sources, the visit proved extremely fruitful as it gave the first hand knowledge of the facilities available at Astro.
Astro is the only cable operator and production house of its kind in Malaysia and enjoy total monopoly over the distribution of TV channel in Malaysia and through its extended network have started its services to Indonesia and Brunei.
Currently, Astro does not have any Urdu TV channel on its network whereas other foreign channels are being reflected in Astro packages. In Malaysia there are sizeable Urdu speaking and Urdu understanding community and inclusion of Urdu channel in Astro's Network will certain cater to the needs of the Urdu speaking community in Malaysia moreover through its dubbing and transcript facilities the Urdu channel can be viewed by entire Astro subscribers. Tahir Mahmud Qazi, High Commissioner for Pakistan offered Astro to include PTVC Global in the Astro's family channel to enrich its family package.
