He said the Prosecution Department should play its role in pursuing court cases, providing relief to people and ensuring punishment to criminals. "The government is promoting the departments related to law and dispensation of justice on priority basis so that problems of the people could be resolved," he added.
He said setting up a separate department of prosecution in the province was helping people solve complicated judicial problems and ensuring punishment to the offenders. "The government is attaching top priority to the eradication of crimes and provision of justice to the masses.
Talented and expert lawyers have been appointed as professional prosecutors in the province and they are discharging their responsibilities regarding assistance to the people in judicial affairs in an independent manner. Professional prosecutors will have to play a proactive role for resolving the difficulties of the people and provision of social justice to the oppressed segments of the society," he said.
Prosecutor General Khan said the department dealt with 10,000 cases and that the department was playing an active role in all courts from the level of tehsil to the Supreme Court. "The department also issues instructions to police on registration of FIRs, investigation of cases and submission of fines to courts," he added.
