The minority votes estimated at 0.5 million in Sindh have got very importance for upcoming general elections as political leaders and notables have started their trips to different villages and towns for getting the same.
Voters belonging to minority in towns of interior Sindh including Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Tharparker, Sanghar, Jacobabad, Nawabshah and others have weight to decide the fate of candidates in their respective constituencies in January 8 polls.
Political parties including PPP, PML-Q, PML-N, PML-F and MQM were running campaign to get these decisive votes. It may be noted that in the past, the minority voters supported PPP but this time situation seems to be different because there is possibility of votes' division.
There are some minority tribes who have got much importance in their constituencies, which include Bheel, Kolhi, Menghwar, Malhi, Lohana, Bania, Jogi, Maharaj and Jaitia.
The minority vote bank in Sindh was used in the past on the directives of minority leaders including former federal minister Rana Chander Singh, Dr Khatumal, Krishen Bheel and ex-MNA Kishen Chand Parwani.
