The federal government has asked the Punjab government to appoint 500 more Civil Judges to clear the backlog of cases in the lower courts. The caretaker Minister for Law and Justice, Afzal Haider, held a meeting here on Monday to discuss threadbare the problems and working conditions of the subordinate judiciary in the country.
He said that he had talked to Punjab Chief Minister for appointing 500 new Civil Judges to ensure quick disposal of cases. He said that the government was arranging additional facilities for the subordinate judiciary. The Judges' grades have already been upgraded in Sindh. The meeting also discussed better residential and travel facilities for the subordinate judiciary.
