Jilani visits PIA head office

The Caretaker Minister for Defence, Salim Abbas Jilani visited PIA Head Office here on Tuesday. The Chairman PIA along with the Deputy Managing Director and the Chief Financial Officer briefed the minister on PIA's administrative, operational and aviation matters.
The removal of European Union's restriction on PIA, route rationalisation, cost cutting measures and acquisition of new aircraft were discussed in detail. The minister appreciated the efforts being made to improve flight safety, flight punctuality and especially passenger service on board.
He advised management to step up efforts on revenue service on board. He advised the management to step up efforts on revenue generation and further optimise on flight schedules with a view to offset the financial losses of the airline.-PR
