Two people were killed and five others were injured when a bomb planted went off in election campaigning meeting of PML-Q in Bekar town of Dera Bugti district on Wednesday, Dera Bugti police told APP.
Tariq Massuri Bugti, PML-Q nominated candidate for PB-24 Dera Bugti, was proceeding to the public meeting as part of his election campaign when remote control bomb planted in the meeting ground went off. Tariq Massuri himself escaped uninjured miraculously from the incident. Two persons were killed on the spot who were cousins of Tariq Massuri Bugti. The deceased were identified as Wahid Bakhsh and Fateh Muhammad.
The injured have been shifted to Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) Hospital Sui for treatment. Their names could not be ascertained till the filing of the report. Police have cordoned off the area for searching of miscreants. However, no arrest has so far been made in this regard.
