Secretary Health Punjab on Chief Minister's instructions has ordered an enquiry against Dr Imtiaz Hamid, MS DHQ Hospital Faisalabad for adopting delaying tactics in re-examination of medical report ordered by the court.
Secretary Health Anwar Ahmad Khan told APP that Chief Minister had taken a serious notice on a news item published in a section of press regarding the poor performance of Medical Board headed by Dr Imtiaz Hamid which even after two months failed to determine self inflicted eye injury. He said that if allegation proved, strict disciplinary action would be taken against all those responsible for delay and issuance of alleged bogus medical certificate, which deprived two persons of their liberty.
Father of the aggrieved person Pir Zafar Hussain Shah said his schoolgoing son Noor Hussain Shah along with his paternal uncle had been put behind the bar for more than one month on the basis of bogus medical certificate.
Court on October 10 last had ordered re-examination of Ghulam son of Warriam of Pindi Sheikh Musa tehsil Tandlianwala, Faisalabad but delaying tactics was adopted in this regard. Ghulam, a servant, at the behest of his landlord over old enmity after obtaining medical certificate from Dr Naseer of BHU of the same village got registered a case with Police Station Bhalik against five persons including Noor Shah and his four paternal uncles.
The board despite clear-cut report of the specialist based on the CT scan failed to arrive at a decision even after a period of two months.
