The wholesale commodity prices were generally mixed with the exception of one or two rises during the weekend that ended a little earlier on December 20, 2007, owing to Eid-ul-Azha.
COMMODITIES THAT WERE NOT REPORTED WERE FOLLOWING: plastic mouldings depicted mixed: HDPE film (per lb) Saudia 952 ended lower by 50 paisa to Rs 57.50, Mobil shed same amount to Rs 57.50, and TR 144 quoted at Rs 57.28, HDPE injection Sabic 20056 closed lower by Rs 1.50 to Rs 52.50, Mobil 016 lost Rs 1.50, to Rs 52.20, and Iran was lower by Rs 1.25 to Rs 51.75, HDPE blow Kuwait quoted at Rs 57.50, and MG 70 closed higher by Rs 2 to Rs 67, LLDPE W118 quoted at Rs 57.75, 7087 closed lower by 25 paisa to Rs 57.50, and Sabic 500026 climbed higher by Rs 5 to Rs 68, polypropylene (film) Thai gained 50 paisa to Rs 58.50, Kuwait was down 25 paisa to Rs 58.25 and India was quoted at Rs 58.
Polypropylene tape grade India rose by 25 paisa to Rs 57.25, Kuwait rose by 25 paisa to Rs 57.25, and Saudia was quoted at Rs 57, high impact (per bag) Pak rose by Rs 8 to Rs 3358 and BASF at Rs 3400.
Guwar Sindh low type rose sharply by Rs 100 to Rs 1850, while Punjab verity did not show any change and was quoted at Rs 1200 and Rs 1400. Wheat old and new both rose by Rs 25 to Rs 1750 while the other type was quoted at Rs 1765. Gram garda Punjab scaled higher by Rs 50 to Rs 2675 and other type was quoted at Rs 2800. Gram garda dal low type rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2800 and better type rose by Rs 15 to Rs 3000. Beetle 50x50 low type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 2775, while other type rose by Rs 25 to Rs 2825 and bajra rose by Rs 25 to Rs 1400 and other type was quoted at Rs 1775.
Raw rubber from Ceylon rose by Rs 4 to Rs 79 and pale crape TCP 3 was seen down Rs 2 to Rs 75, Latex Semnan Tex was quoted at Rs 480 and Thai (GT) was also quoted at same level.
On Monday Jodia Bazar showed changes in chemicals (per kg) formic acid Pak rose by Rs 7 to Rs 73, same item from Germany gained Rs 6.60 to Rs 88. Oxalic acid China was down by Re 1 to Rs 84 and citric acid China was quoted at Rs 80. Petroleum jelly sulphonic acid soft closed higher by Rs 6.54 to Rs 99, and Sitara caustic soda flakes rose by Rs 2 to Rs 41. Hydrosulphite China 88 percent quoted at Rs 75 and Germany rose by Rs 3 to Rs 83. Acetic acid Taiwan rose by Rs 5 to Rs 96 and hydrogen peroxide 35 percent Taiwan shed Re to Rs 32 while Korea 5 percent lost 50 paisa to Rs 32.
Elsewhere til low type rose sharply by Rs 250 to Rs 2650 while better type shed Rs 50 to Rs 2900. On Tuesday no fluctuations from any market was available as traders reported trading was generally on the previous days' rates.
On Wednesday in slow moving business wheat both new and old types registered a gain of Rs 50 to Rs 1800 and the other type was at Rs 1815, moong Punjab rose by Rs 250, gur better gained Rs 100 to Rs 2600, while the other stayed put at Rs 1800, sugar shed Rs 50 to Rs 2250 and Rs 2300 while khandsari better rype rose by Rs 200 to Rs 3200 while the other type stayed at previous level.
