CIA Police raided 14 notorious criminal dens in various parts of the provincial metropolis on December 20/21 night and arrested 119 criminals and seized 138 revolvers, 75 pistols, 25 riffles, 25 pump-action, 7939 bullets, 544 bottles of liquor, more than one kg charas, motorcycles, cell phones and Rs 0.1 million cash from them.
As per details, Capital City Police Officer, Additional IG Muhammad Iqbal directed DIG Investigation Tassaduq Hussain to round up the criminals during ongoing campaign against illicit arms and proclaimed offenders and target notorious dens where such elements were being provided harbour.
Around nine teams comprising CIA officials led by SP CIA Masood Aziz were constituted to conduct raids across the city to nab the proclaimed offenders and illicit arms holders.
Police also arrested three proclaimed offenders, four court absconders and two target offenders during the crackdown. The dens targeted by the police included Dera Mohammad Alyas Badami Bagh, Dera Malik Billo Shadbagh, Dera Zafar alias Zafri Nuth Baghbanpura, Dera Ashraf alias Achhi Butt Naulakha, Dera Pallo Jutt Gawalmandi, Dera Aslam Siyal Badami Bagh, Dera Muslim Butt Gunj Bazar Mughalpura, Dera Malik karamat Batapur, Dera Allah Rakha Gujar Kahna, Dera Malik Guddo Hunjarwal, Dera Salman Rafique Yakki Gate, Dera Wali Shah Factory Area, Dera Bugga Bahseenwala Batapur and Dera Chadda Sherwala Kahna.
Capital City Police Chief has highly appreciated the CIA police for successful operation against the criminals and announced prizes for the raiding teams.
