Sindh Rangers have launched a drive against anti-social elements and gangsters to ensure peace and tranquillity in the city at large. According to an announcement here on Sunday, the campaign has been initiated on the special directives of Director General Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Major General Liaqat Ali.
Rangers personnel have started patrolling and snap checking in various sensitive localities of the city. Late Saturday, the personnel of Sindh Rangers arrested five persons namely Muhammad Anees, Muhammad Adnan, Zulfiqar Ali, Faiz Ullah and Asmat Ullah, who were charged with carrying illegal weapons and resorting to aerial firing.
Moreover, Rangers also recovered four TT pistols (30 bore), 26 rounds and two motorcycles from their possession. The accused were handed over to police after initial interrogation.
It is pertinent to mention that the incumbent DG Rangers Major-General Liaqat Ali has vowed to root out the menace of lawlessness fanned by organised gangs of criminals, and in this regard a comprehensive strategy has been formulated to contain the growing trend of street crimes from the city at large.
DG Rangers has called upon the masses that they should extend all possible assistance to the law enforcement agencies in order to completely eliminate such gangs of hardened criminals who were hell-bent to challenge the writ of law by terrorising innocent citizens of the city.
