Haq Parast candidates of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have geared up election campaign, holding corner meetings at various localities in metropolis as MQM chief is set to simultaneously address four public meetings in the city on Tuesday.
Former senior minister and candidate from PS-116, Syed Sardar Ahmed, in his mass contact campaign in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, PECH Society, Bahadurabad, Karachi Cooperative Society, Masjid-e-Kibria and Homeland Apartments, told the voters that Haq Parast leadership will secure an unprecedented victory in January 8 elections on the basis of its past performance.
He said the process of development will gain momentum after the success in the elections and the people will get every possible facility. "The MQM has laid a foundation of an unending and unstoppable journey of development and construction in Karachi under the leadership of Altaf Hussain", he added.
Sardar Ahmed said the MQM is the only party in the country, which struggles for the empowerment of women and minorities. He pointed out that credit for understanding the problems of poor and middle class also goes to MQM. The development and social work carried out by Haq Parast leadership in the province are the ample examples in this regard, he noted.
He was of the opinion that this election was a test case for all political parties and only those will secure victory in the elections, which paid attention to people's problem and redressed them.
Another MQM candidate from PS-126, Faisal Sabzwari, in his mass contact campaign held corner meetings in various localities of Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Altaf Hussain has introduced the slogan of peoples' empowerment and stable Pakistan and secured popularity among 98 percent of the population in the country.
He said the MQM believes in struggle instead of making tall claims. Our past performance is the living example in this regard. He said: "Our struggle for provincial autonomy, eradication of extremism, promotion of education and health, elimination of poverty and unemployment and overall improvement in living standards."
Sabzwari said the MQM has served the masses without discrimination. This is the reason why people welcome MQM and reject opportunist elements. He maintained the very soon MQM's election symbol "kite" will be flying in every part of the country very soon and the people will poll for kite on January 8.
Former industries minister and a candidate contesting on PS-100 Adil Siddiqui during his meetings with youth, women and senior citizens said that MQM has never struggled to gain power, but strives for the cause of masses.
