Salmaan Taseer, Federal Minister for Industries, Production and Special Initiatives visited the National Industrial Parks Development & Management Company (NIP), along with Shahab Khawaja, Federal Secretary, the other day, says a press release.
Salman Burney, Chairman and Zubair Habib, Chief Executive of NIP, briefed at the occasion on the on-going projects of the company. The minister appreciated the concept of Industrial Parks and focused clustering of the industrial units at the Korangi Industrial Park (KCIP) and directed the company to arrange commercial launch of the project as soon as possible.
He also emphasised the need for ensuring complete transparency so that the genuine entrepreneurs come forward to establish industries. He asked the management to fast track the permission for setting up 48MW power plant at the park to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the industries.
According to PR this project is being developed on 240 acres of land at Korangi Creek. M/s Jurong Consultants of Singapore, renowned internationally for their expertise and wide experience in this field has developed the design concept and master plan of the park, whereas M/s Nespak has been given the responsibility for subsequent architectural design, engineering services and supervision of the project.
NIP is also developing an Industrial Park at Pakistan Steel Downstream Industrial Estate on 930- acre land, in Karachi, for the medium/large entrepreneurs and an Auto Cluster Industrial Park on Shiekhupura Road in Lahore, on 170 acres land besides a Marble City in Risalpur, NWFP in collaboration with Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC).-PR
