The former federal minister for information and leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q), Muhammad Ali Durrani has claimed that seat accommodation moves between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) are just a reflection of his party's growing popularity.
He informed the newsmen on Monday that the PML-N had become a puppet at the hands of the PPP and the latter was influencing its decisions. Referring to a statement by the Chairperson, PPP, Benazir Bhutto claiming that the elections could be fair only if her party and the PML-N emerge as top seat holders, Durrani lashed out, "It seems that Bhutto wants selection instead of elections."
He further claimed that both Bhutto and Sharif would leave the country after January 9 and there would be no protest movement to hold them back. Durrani also said the people of Pakistan would never allow the keys of national kitty to 'a corrupt king and a queen'."
"The PML-Q is launching its election campaign by holding a public meeting at the Mazar-e-Quaid on December 25 to be addressed by his party President, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, and other party leaders," he added.
While replying to a question on the PML-Q's candidate for prime minister, Durrani termed the National Assembly as the best forum to decide the issue however, said that people expect Pervaiz Elahi as the future premier. Interestingly Durrani, without naming Imran Khan, Qazi Hussein Ahmed or anyone else advised the 12th player in the political scenario to adopt a positive attitude.
