A key leader of the lawyers' movement, Ali Ahmed Kurd, has said that their struggle is not just for reinstatement of the deposed judges but they also want rule of law and restoration of democracy in the country. Talking to the VOA, Ali Ahmed Kurd said the objective of the movement of the lawyers' community is to save country's political institutions.
He said that three state pillars - judiciary, parliamentary, executive - are not in a stable position. "We are determined to continue our struggle and no worldly power can stop our struggle", he vowed.He emphatically stated that nothing is possible on the political stage without the consent of the lawyers. He said that the pre-November 3 judiciary will be restored and the deposed senior judges, including chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will be reinstated. "No worldly power can prevent their reinstatement", he stressed.
