PPP Central Information Secretary Sherry Rehman has said that Benazir Bhutto might have been targeted through a laser gun and the injury was fresh till the last moment.
Talking to a private TV channel, she said the claim of the Ministry of Interior is a bid to cover the real culprits and the government's failure to provide security to the leader of the biggest political party of the country.
Sherry said that the tyres Benazir's vehicle were bust due to blast and she was taken to hospital in her car, adding Benazir succumbed to her injuries before reaching the central hospital. The PPP leader said the government should avoid irresponsible statements as such statements could further deteriorate the situation.
She said the gap created by the assassination of Benazir Bhutto could never be filled. Benazir was chain of four provinces and symbol of federation and could unite all the dissident leaders of the party, added Sherry.
