Almost all petrol pumps, business centres, commercial markets, vegetable and fruit markets, bakeries and milk shops are closed as a result of which people have been suffering badly in Sialkot for the last three days.
The transport plying within city and for other cites remained off the roads and multiplied the miseries for travellers. The traffic on roads has become very thin due to the non-availability of fuel. The city petrol pumps have remained closed for the past three days.
No visible business activity could take place as the shopkeepers kept their shutters down as a precaution under the prevailing tense situation. Several shops, state-owned as well as and private buildings in the city were attacked by angry mobs during past three days.
The business community of Sialkot - which is an export-oriented city and a nucleus of cottage industries of the country - are suffering badly because any delay in fulfilling foreign orders and timely delivery of consignments to ultimate destinations will have an adverse impact on export business.
