DCO Muhammad Hameedullah Sheikh has called for strict action against all those teachers who were absent from duty. Chairing a meeting on education reforms programme on Tuesday, the DCO warned that stringent disciplinary action would be taken against 'before-time closure of schools or teachers absenteeism' which is badly affecting the standard of education in the country.
District Monitoring Officer (DMO), Mukhtar Ahmed briefed the DCO that the monitoring officials found 22 schools closed before the school time and 75 teachers were absent from duty.
The schools included 19 girls primary schools and three Maktab (mosque) schools, while the absenting teachers included mostly females. The DCO called to ensure cent per cent payment of stipend to girl students from sixth to eighth. He said this facility has helped in halting dropout of girl students.
