The housewives in Karachi are not only worried about ever-rising prices of basic commodities especially kitchen items, but low pressure on Sui gas is also tormenting them. With the arrival of winter, the complaints of low pressure of domestic gas are on the rise in various parts of the city.
There are reports from various localities in the city including parts of Site, Baldia, New Karachi, Orangi, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Liaquatabad that pressure of Sui gas drops during morning and evening hours, creating problems for domestic users of natural gas.
When contacted Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) General Manager Distribution Sohaid Warsi told PPI that main reason behind the low pressure of domestic gas was large-scale and unplanned commercial development in residential areas that affects smooth supply of gas to residential consumers, usually in winter.
