In all 1,10, 496 flour bags were supplied in the open market and especially set up 50 sale points in Lahore by the flour millers on Wednesday in a bid to improve the flour availability situation.
Punjab Food Department sources told Business Recorder that 1,00,127 flour bags of 20 kilograms were supplied in the open market and 10,369 bags were supplied to the special sale points.
Similarly in Rawalpindi district, 1,76,355 flour bags were supplied in the open market and 21,500 at special sale points. In Gujranwala the number of flour bags provided in the open market was 54,291 while bags provided at special sale points were 9676.
The sources said that 36,544 flour bags were supplied to the open market in Multan while the number of bags provided on special sales point were 20,132. Likewise the number of flour bags provided in the open market of Faisalabad remained 36,000 and 2,000 bags were put on sale at the special sale points, the sources concluded.
