The Hamdard Shura in their 159th meeting passed a resolution that assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir is a great loss to the country. Shura expressed his grief over this sad demise and strongly condemned this tragic incident.
Shura also termed the assassination of Benazir as an irreparable loss to the country and expressed their full support to the family and husband of Benazir. Shura also demanded a transparent investigation of her murder and appealed to the people of Pakistan to be peaceful.
Shura appreciated the role of Benazir for the establishment of rule of law and establishment of democracy in the country. At the end of the meeting Shura offered Fateha for Benazir. The meeting was presided by Senator S.M.Zafar and attended by Dr Rafique Ahmed, Bushra Rehman, Dr Miskeen Ali Hijazi, Ahmad Saeed Kirmani and Chaudhry Basheer Ahmed.
