Special Advisor to the NWFP Chief Minister on Political Affairs, Sikandar Aziz Khan has said that to eliminate terrorist activities and 'Talibanisation' in NWFP in general and tribal areas in particular, it is necessary to repatriate all the Afghan refugees from all parts of the country without any delay.
In a press statement while commenting on the prevailing uncertain situation in the country, Aziz Khan said that some organisations in the name of Islam, which were in the past at daggers drawn with the Russian troops in Afghanistan, had now created severe law and order situation in Pakistan particularly in NWFP.
He said their subversive activities had destroyed peace and tranquillity of the Muslims and an Islamic state, which could not be tolerated further at any cost. He added that a people, busy in shedding blood of their own brothers on the pretext of spreading education and Islam, had no relationship with the Muslims.
He said Islam preaches fraternity and honour to the humanity and rights of mankind. Aziz Khan suggested formulation of a policy both by the federal and provincial governments for repatriation of all the Afghan refugees from every corner of the country.
He also held an appeal to the Ulema to take the responsibility of Imamat and Khitabat in the mosques for discouraging the terrorist activities and spread the message of Islam so that real peace could be maintained around the country.
