Muhammad Iqbal of Al-Karam Textile Mills (Pvt) Limited, Karachi has assumed the office of Chairman, All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) for the term 2007-08. Muhammad Iqbal was elected unopposed for this position and has taken-up the charge with effect from January 1, 2008.
Iqbal is an alumnus of Textile Institute, United Kingdom and has over three decades experience in sales and marketing of various textile products and is Director of many groups of companies involved in textiles, polyester staple fibre, dairy products, banking and insurance. Previously, Iqbal was Chairman, Aptma Sindh-Balochistan Zone in 2006-2007 and a member of the National Textile Strategy Commission.
The new Chairman All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Aptma) has pledged to continue untiring efforts towards resolving the problems of textile industry and to struggle in attaining prime objective of taking out the whole textile industry out of challenges under the new World Trade Order (WTO) and to sustain its share in the global market.-PR
