In order to ensure availability of flour to consumers at control rate, 80 sale points have been set up at different prominent places in the City and Saddar revenue limits, here, under the instructions of DCO Major (Retd) Azam Suleman Khan where 20 kg flour bags are being sold to the consumers directly, on first come first served basis at the rate of Rs 295/- per bag.
Giving details Senior Administrative Officer Liaquat Chatha said that 400 flour bags (20 kg) were being supplied to each and every sales point from 27 flour mills through trucks, wagons & pickups etc on daily basis.
At the sales points these flour bags were being sold to the consumers directly at Rs 295/- per bag on first come first served basis under the supervision of Revenue and food department officials, specially deputed for the purpose. Chatha said besides that 32000 bags of 20 kg each were being sold directly to the consumers through supply of flour at control price at the Fair Price Shops set up at the gates of 36 flour mills of the district.
These steps, he said, have considerably helped in improving the situation and now not only flour was available to consumers at control rate but its supply position had also registered a remarkable improvement particularly in the city and Sadder areas. SAO said that despite these, if there were some suggestion or complaints etc in this regard, he might be contacted during office timings on his phone No 041-9200214 for prompt action.
