Different political parties have nominated 63 women for their election against 22 seats reserved for women in the NWFP Provincial Assembly. According to Election Commission of Pakistan, out of these 63 women candidates 14 have been nominated by Pakistan Muslim League, six by PML-N, nine by Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP).
14 by Awami National Party (ANP), eight by Pakistan Peoples Party (Sherpao) and 12 women candidates have been nominated by Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA). The MMA candidates include Uzma Khan, Nafisa Begum, Zarqa, Syda Batool Nasir, Affaf Rehman, Roznia Nawaz, Fouzia Taj, Amina Haider, Qaria Khadijatul Kubra, Farahim, Ghazala Aziz and Saeeda Firdos.
Candidates for Pakistan Muslim League include Nighat Yasmin Orakzai, Begum Tahira Bukhari, Dr Simin Mahmud Jan, Mrs Farhat Iqbal, Shazia Ambreen, Mrs Rukhsana Saghir, Dr Mehr Taj Roghani, Shahida Parveen, Nighat Nawab, Shahida Muhabat, Sobia Shahid, Shabnum Rukhsana, Mrs Rifat Hamid Qazi and Zahida Perveen Malik. The women candidates nominated by the PML-N include Shazia Aurangzeb Khan, Mehr Sultana, Raheela Sohail, Nusrat Ara, Saiqa Nosheen and Miss Maryam Jawaid Gandapur.
The candidates nominated by the PPP (S) include Begum Nargis Samin, Salma Babar, Mrs Sarkar Abbas Advocate, Sumera Shaheen Tariq, Nasreen Khattak, Ghazala Habib Tanoli, Rukhsana Raz, and Riffat Akbar Khan Swati.
Those nominated by Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) for the seats reserved for women include Mehrunnisa Afridi, Shazia Tehmas Khan, Dr Faiza Bibi Rasheed, Mrs Farhat Begum, Sanjida Yousaf, Noorus Sahar, Naeema Shaheen, Sajida Tabassum and Fozia Batool.
For Awami National Party, the women candidates for the reserved seats would be Yasmin Pir Muhammad Khan, Sitara Ayaz, Shagufta, Yasmin Zia, Tabassam Shams, Musarrat Shafi, Yasmin Nazli Jaseem, Munawar Sultana, Mrs Zubaida Ihsan, Arab Bashir, Shabana Saifullah, Perveen Akhtar, Zainab Bibi and Basmeena Bibi.
