On Christmas day message to the minorities both Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mohammadmian Soomro stated that the government would champion minorities rights. Wrong, wrong and false. Are the people so gullible? You can fool them once or twice but not always.
I am a practicing Muslim; according to my belief all the houses of Allah of any community are sacred and a trust of Islam to protect them. Just two days before a Christian Church in Garden Town, Lahore, built in 1963, was demolished by the police and land mafia, after evicting the priest and occupying the church land.
As a Muslim I hang my head in shame. Where was the government? Where were the President and the Prime Minister who calls himself a Sufi? What would the government's reaction be if one of our mosques were demolished? Why did not the Muslims rise up to defend our Christian brothers?
Let me warn that there are 140 million Muslims living in India and there too Hindu fundamentalist are creeping. What will they do when a mosque is demolished? Who will protect Islam? Are we bent on destroying Islam? Please do some hard thinking.
