Chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema Islam Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the delay in elections was appropriate. Maulana Fazlur Rehman was of the view that some big political parties did not accept delay in polls wholeheartedly. "However, we accepted the delay," he said while addressing a press conference here on Sunday.
He called the incidents of looting after the killing of Benazir Bhutto undesirable.
If elements which were involved in these incidents come into government they will not be able to serve the people, he observed. He was of the opinion that the government itself created the power and flour crisis to divert attention of the people from some important issues. He said PPP itself demanded probe from the Scotland Yard police but now they wanted investigation from a team of United Nations.
