The All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) would hold countrywide protest on Monday against the frequent load shedding and unprecedented inflation in the country. According to an announcement of APDM, the demonstration and protests would be held in almost all major cities where leaders of the multi-party alliance would lead and address the rallies.
The APDM leaders, led by Mehmood Khan Achkzai, beside boycotting elections, have decided to launch an anti-government movement to undo what it called a 'fraud elections' and vowed to go to the public in a bid to block it by highlighting what it termed the 'anti-poor policies undemocratic' policies of the regime.
The Monday's protest plan is also part of this anti-government drive, where APMD leaders would try to mobilise people and highlight miseries being faced by masses due to the civic problems across the country.
Liaquat Baloch would lead and address a rally in Lahore; Aslam in Islamabad, Abdul Ghafoor in Karachi; Sirrajul Haq in Peshawar; and PONM leaders would address the rallies in Interior Sindh and Balochistan.
However, Imran Khan would not attend the protest due to illness of his father Ikranullah Khan Niazi.
Liaquat said that their leaders would address rallies and highlight the problems being faced by the people due to frequent load shedding, unavailability of 'atta', skyrocketing prices of daily used commodities.
They would also highlight weakness of the government due to which these problems have been frequently faced by masses for the last many years, he added. It would be also a part of the APDM campaign launched against the holding of elections without restoring the sacked judiciary and lifting curbs on media, he maintained.
