The new Muharram moon may be sighted tomorrow (Wednesday). According to astronomical parameters, there is a fair chance of sighting the Muharram moon. Therefore, Muharram One, 1429 AH should fall on Thursday. The moon will cross the conjunction line today (Tuesday) at 1638 Pakistan Standard Time (PST).
The sunset tomorrow will be at 1800 PST, and the evening civil twilight (ECTL) will be at 1825 PST. The moon will set at 1851 PST. Thus the age of the new moon will be 25 hours and 47 minutes at ECTL. It will set 51 minutes after sunset and 26 minutes before ECTL.
At the time of ECTL the moon will be at an altitude of four degrees and 17 minutes and at an azimuth of 242 degrees and 41 minutes. The weather is expected to be partly cloudy.
