Cold wave conditions persist in most parts of the country, which is expected to continue with increased fog and cold during the next 24 hours. The lowest temperature of one degree centigrade was recorded in some parts of Southern Punjab, Meteorological Department reports said.
Multan also remained in the grip of intense as the mercury fell to freezing point of one degree celsius in the city. Weather remained cold and dry in most parts of Punjab and NWFP. In Quetta mercury went down to -7 degrees centigrade, which also affected weather conditions in Sindh.
A strong system of westerly wave lies over Iran adjoining Afghanistan and is likely to reach Balochistan between January 5-9 causing snowfall and rainy weather in the most parts of the province.
