Sialkot district administration has established 16 sale points for ensuring smooth availability of Atta for the consumers in Sialkot district disclosed District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Sialkot Captain Atta Muhammad (Retd).
Talking to reporters here on Tuesday he added that sale points would also be set up in Jumah and Itwaar bazaars while sale points are also functioning on the gates of flourmills to facilitate the common man in the district. He disclosed that 300 Atta bags of 20kg would be available on each sale point and one bag would be given to one man in the district.
Besides, sudden raids were being conducted for checking hoarding and black marketing of Atta and Rs 80,000 fine has been recovered from the shopkeepers involved in this practice he added. The District Co-ordination Officer further stated that overall situation of Ata availability is quite satisfactory and Food Department has sufficient quantity of wheat for providing the flourmills in Sialkot district.
The step taken by the district administration would help further improve the situation and people would get sufficient Atta he added. The District Co-ordination Officer further said that "Consumers Protection Court" has started functioning in Sialkot that will protect the rights of consumers in the district. The Consumers Protection Court would take necessary action on the complaints of the consumers he added.
